Beware of phishing
Remain vigilant for emails sporting urgent, anxiety-provoking subject lines or communications from fraudsters masquerading as individuals affiliated with your organization. Use your mouse to hover over the sender's email address to verify its legitimacy and preview links to discern its destination. If in doubt, refrain from clicking.
And vishing (voice phishing)
Under no circumstances should you divulge your login credentials or financial account details or grant access to your devices over the phone unless you have independently verified that the request originates from a trusted and legitimate source
Keep software up to date
Delaying the installation of updates for your computer and mobile device software can leave you vulnerable to cyber threats. Ensure you promptly install updates to bolster your defenses against potential attacks.
Passwords
Employ intricate, difficult-to-predict passwords comprising random phrases, a blend of uppercase and lowercase letters, numerals, and special characters. These robust passwords can be your first line of defence against cyber threats. Rotate passwords regularly or leverage a password manager alongside multi-factor authentication for added security.
